Frequently Asked Questions
GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated by multiplying each course's grade points by its credit hours, summing up the quality points, and dividing by the total credit hours. Example: If you earned an A (4.0) in a 3-credit course and a B (3.0) in a 4-credit course, your GPA = (4.0×3 + 3.0×4) / (3+4) = 24/7 = 3.43.
A GPA of 3.0 or higher is generally considered good. A GPA of 3.5+ is considered excellent and may qualify you for honors or dean's list. For graduate school, most programs require a minimum GPA of 3.0. For competitive programs (law, medicine), a GPA of 3.5+ is recommended.
