How to Use This DNS Lookup Tool

Get complete DNS intelligence in 3 simple steps:

  1. Enter Domain Name — Type the domain URL (e.g., example.com) into the search box.
  2. Click "Lookup DNS" — We query all major record types (A, AAAA, MX, NS, TXT, CNAME, SOA) from Google Public DNS simultaneously.
  3. Read Your Results — Check the Health Score for configuration issues. Switch tabs to see all records, the All-in-One intelligence dashboard, or raw DNS data.
Pro Tip: Use Bulk Check to compare DNS configurations across up to 25 domains at once and export the results as CSV.

Common Use Cases

Email Deliverability Issues

Emails going to spam? Check your MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records to find misconfigured email authentication that causes deliverability failures.

Domain Migration Verification

Migrating hosts or registrars? Verify that A records, nameservers, and MX records point to the correct servers after migration.

Website Not Loading

Website down? Check if DNS records exist and resolve correctly. Missing A records or misconfigured CNAME records are common culprits.

SEO & Competitor Research

Bulk-check competitor DNS configurations to identify their hosting providers, CDNs, email services, and domain verification records.

Frequently Asked Questions

A DNS (Domain Name System) lookup queries the global DNS infrastructure to find records associated with a domain name. The most common query is translating a domain name like "example.com" into an IP address (A record), but DNS stores many other types of records including mail server addresses (MX), nameserver delegations (NS), text verification records (TXT), and more.

We query all 7 major DNS record types simultaneously: A (IPv4 address), AAAA (IPv6 address), MX (mail exchange servers), NS (authoritative nameservers), TXT (text records including SPF, DKIM, DMARC), CNAME (canonical name aliases), and SOA (start of authority — primary nameserver and zone settings).

The DNS Health Score is a 0-100 rating that evaluates your domain's DNS configuration against best practices. It checks for multiple nameservers (redundancy), valid MX records (email), SPF/DKIM/DMARC records (email security), proper TTL values, IPv6 support (AAAA records), and SOA configuration. Scores above 70 indicate good DNS health.

We use Google Public DNS (dns.google) DNS-over-HTTPS API. It's the world's largest public DNS resolver, handling over 1 trillion queries per day. It provides fast, accurate, and privacy-respecting DNS resolution. All queries are free and require no API keys.

Not all domains have all record types configured. For example, a domain might not have AAAA records (IPv6) or CNAME records. If no records appear at all, check the domain spelling, ensure DNS has propagated (if recently changed), or verify the domain is registered and active.

You can check up to 25 domains at once using the Bulk Check feature. Results display in a table with Health Score, primary A record, MX status, and NS count for each domain. You can export all results as a CSV file.

DNS propagation is the time it takes for DNS changes (like updating nameservers or A records) to spread across all DNS servers worldwide. It typically takes 1-4 hours but can take up to 48 hours in some cases. During propagation, different users may see different DNS results depending on their location.

What Our Users Say

"The DNS Health Score found my missing SPF record in seconds. My emails were going to spam for weeks and this tool pinpointed the issue instantly."

Rachel M., Email Marketing Manager

"Bulk DNS check + CSV export is perfect for my hosting migrations. I verify 20 client domains at once instead of checking them one by one."

James P., SysAdmin

"Finally a DNS tool that shows ALL record types at once. Other tools make you query one type at a time which is incredibly tedious."

Linda K., DevOps Engineer
