Multiply the original price by the discount percentage divided by 100. Subtract this from the original price. Example: 20% off $50 = $50 × 0.20 = $10 discount, so the sale price is $50 - $10 = $40.
Stacked discounts are applied one after another, not added together. For example, 20% off + 10% off on a $100 item: first 20% off = $80, then 10% off $80 = $72. This is less than a single 30% off ($70). The order doesn't matter mathematically, but the total discount is always less than the sum of individual percentages.
